Perm State National Research University opens its baby care room.

October 18 saw the opening of the first baby care room in the building of Perm State National Research University as part of the Family Ecosystem project.
Family Ecosystem's goal is to develop an infrastructure for young parents pursuing a higher education degree.
Igor Germanov, Acting Rector of Perm State National Research University:
“Parenting students often struggle with the challenge of finding a child care facility where their child can stay while they attend university classes. We have provided a space where they can leave their child in the care of professional care providers and concentrate on their studies - and this is really wonderful!”.
The baby care room provides a safe and quiet environment where parents can feed their children aged 0 to 3 and care for them elsewise, as well as leave here any of their childcare items for the duration of the class. While attending their in-person classes, the parents will have the opportunity to leave a child aged 3 and above with a babysitter in the room's play area which is a service they need to book in advance. Children from 5 years old and upwards will be able to take part in workshops and master classes that will be taught by volunteers who have received relevant training.
The project is being implemented by the All-Russian organization Urban Renovations with the support of SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds social investment program.

“By opening the baby care room we are taking a very timely and helpful step forward to promote family values and to help develop the region's human resource potential. The room is designed to improve the quality of life for young mothers who are currently studying at Perm State National Research University. With time, they will become skilled professionals and will join the workforce of various enterprises, including ours. Perm State National Research University's students are regular participants of SIBUR's targeted programs. They are offered internships at our company and then go on to become members of our team. I would like to thank all our partners involved in the project, and to express the hope that such rooms will eventually become available at every institution of higher learning”.
