SIBUR to conduct Leadership Code 2.0, a business forum hosted by Amur Oblast

20 may 2022

Blagoveshchensk and Svobodny are to host Leadership Code 2.0, an entrepreneurs’ forum that will be taking place on May 26 and on May 27 to 28, respectively, co-organized in partnership with AmurExpoForum, an international exhibition and forum. Leadership Code is a project implemented by SIBUR within the framework of its social investment program, the Formula for Good Deeds, together with Amur Oblast’s Ministry of Economic Development and External Relations.

The aim of the forum is to foster development of the region’s small and medium businesses and to draw the attention of local entrepreneurs to socially relevant business initiatives that contribute to improving the region’s social climate and urban environments. New business projects are expected to help make cities more convenient for their inhabitants, while also inspiring those who are only considering starting their own business. Cooperation with AmurExpoForum is strategically important for developing local business communities and strengthening their ties with international partners. The events of AmurExpoForum and Leadership Code 2.0 will be co-hosted by Blagoveshchensk’s Public Cultural Center, making it possible for visitors to attend all of the two fora’s most interesting events.

A diverse business program awaits the participants of the forum covering such important areas of entrepreneurship as the development and implementation of new business ideas, HR management, legal support for businesses, marketing strategies, anti-crisis communications, promotion of goods and services on popular social networks, and much more. Leading experts and instructors specializing in the fields of business law, marketing, HR and psychology of entrepreneurship will share their effective and useful tools and techniques with the attendees who will also have an opportunity to attend lectures and workshops in addition to being able to ask the experts their own case-specific questions about doing business.

Business consultant Dmitry Dmitriyev, an MBA professor at RANEPA, Moscow State University and Moscow International Higher School of Business MIRBIS, will be using real-life examples to illustrate the advantages of the client-centric approach to business and to show how to make money by creating positive client experience. The list of "star" speakers also includes Marsel Ziganshin, founder of the Bison Pizza chain, an ex-manager of the McDonald’s chain of restaurants, a former top manager of Dodo Pizza and author of "Doing Business the McDonald’s Way”; business-trainer Alexander Khariton, a professor at Moscow Business School (MBS) and Russian School of Management, and author of Effective Sales; Tehhi Polonskaya, a specialist in personal and commercial branding, the owner of Brusnika marketing agency and columnist at Delovoy Peterburg, as well as founders and owners of successful business projects including a studio for personalized training sessions, an art studio, a chess club, an online atelier, and a microgreens farm.

In addition, Svobodny will be hosting two of the forum’s discussion platforms. One of them will be focusing on discussing application of a systemic approach to doing business in the service sector. It is expected that Dmitry Dmitriyev, Marcel Ziganshin, Alexander Khariton and the authors of successful businesses will take part in the discussion. The other platform will premiere a session on female entrepreneurship with the emphasis on developing and supporting initiatives of female entrepreneurs. The session’s participants will be discussing such relevant subjects as personal branding, time management, ability to reach an agreement, and using one’s own style as a means of communication.

The final day of the forum will feature a presentation and defense of projects in addition to an awards ceremony celebrating the winners of the PROcity contest that is also being supported by SIBUR as part of its Formula for Good Deeds social investment program. The goal of the initiative is to develop the business community of the city of Svobodny and of the entire Svobodny District. Within the framework of the contest, a jury of experts will select the best projects developed by both well-established and budding entrepreneurs. The winners will receive grants to help them bring their ideas to fruition.

Last year was the first time that we organized the Leadership Code business forum in Amur Oblast and in its aftermath we received a lot of positive reviews from the forum’s participants, local entrepreneurs from Svobodny and Blagoveshchensk in a sign that local businesses feel a need for some form of support. This goes beyond just pure financial support, although as a company we are interested in creating an enabling social and urban environment in the regions of our presence and do implement financial support programs to help prop up the most promising local business projects. It's also about boosting the enthusiasm of local entrepreneurs. Which is especially important in the times of uncertainty brought about by economic sanctions and restrictions. I am confident that the Leadership Code forum will not only help raise business confidence but also serve as a kind of starting point for generating and implementing new ideas and for setting up successful start-ups, Gleb Fedotov, Head of Department of Government Relations and Socio-Economic Projects at Amur Gas and Chemical Combine, noted.
